Home - Melbourne
The tennis this year will be underway and Melbourne is the perfect host to the Australian Open. Fly into Melbourne and enjoy five nights accommodation in Kew, 10 minutes from Melbourne Park, close to everything including a tram stop, shops, cafés and restaurants.
Australian Open Super Saturday
Following breakfast at the motel, transfer to Melbourne Park. Gates open at 10:00 am so there will be plenty of time to become familiar with the layout of the centre before the matches start at 11:00 am. As well as Rod Laver Arena, your ticket will also provide access to all games on the outside courts, with a great opportunity to see some upsets and top players battling it out. There are food outlets at the courts, or take a packed lunch from the shops near our motel. (Don’t buy anything in a glass bottle, as these are not allowed in Melbourne Park. Please note cameras with more than 200x zoom are also prohibited.) Limited Mobility Access can be requested but not guaranteed.
Australian Open Sunday
The next three days you have centre court seats in Rod Laver Arena. You may choose to stay in your seat watching the big games on the Arena all day, or go and watch the outside matches if you desire whilst still reserving your seats at centre court. The day matches usually conclude by 5 pm, but can run late. The coach will leave at the end of the last day match and we suggest bringing a small cushion with you to make your seat more comfortable for the day.
Australian Open Monday
After breakfast spend the day at the tennis enjoying another fabulous day of fast action and unforgettable tennis highlights. Return to the motel at the conclusion of the day’s play.
Australian Open Tuesday Games
Today is our last full day at the tennis; with the competition now getting into the quarter finals, and the seeded players starting to hit top form, it will make for some very interesting matches between the top players and the wildcards who have nothing to lose and are playing for glory. Let the drama begin. Hold your breath as the ball skims the sideline and cheer with excitement as these extraordinary sportsmen and women reach exceptional heights.
Melbourne - Home
Take in the awe inspiring views of Melbourne from the Eureka SkyDeck 88, boasting the highest public vantage point in the Southern Hemisphere. Before farewelling this sporting city, enjoy the international buffet at the Watergardens Hotel. This afternoon, transfer to Tullarmarine airport for your flights home.
