Broken Hill - Guided Tour, RFDS and Living Desert Sculpture Symposium
Begin today with a locally guided tour, starting at the point of Australia’s only land assault during World War I. Tour the Royal Flying Doctors Service Visitors Centre and museum. See one of Broken Hill’s original and unsuccessful water storage facilities, Umberumberka Reservoir, which silted up shortly after construction. This afternoon, view the sun setting from Mundi Mundi Lookout, where 'Mad Max 2' was filmed. Enjoy dinner in the Silverton Hotel, where the walls are adorned with memorabilia of movies made here such as ‘A Town like Alice’, ‘Razorback’, and ‘Dirty Deeds’.

This afternoon visit the Broken Hill Regional Gallery and the Silver City Mint, including the chocolate factory and the Albert Kersten Mining and Minerals Museum - a must do! The final stop for the day is at the Line of Lode, which overlooks the city from the overburden dumps of the old mines.
