This time of year, the countryside is bright with colour as a profusion of native wildflowers and wattle put on their spectacular annual show. Visit Girraween National Park with its massive granite outcrops where the large angular boulders and precariously balanced rocks are a sight that continues to draw travellers to this beautiful part of the Granite Belt. Other highlights include visits to a berry garden, jam factory and winery all specially chosen to tempt your taste buds.

Day 1 L, D
Brisbane – Killarney – Stanthorpe
Travel via the Mt Lindesay Highway to Beaudesert for morning tea and the opportunity to browse the art and craft on display at the Community Arts and Crafts Centre. Continue through Rathdowney and into the foothills of Mt Barney, travelling from Woodenbong through Legume and on to Killarney for lunch. This afternoon Queen Mary Falls, part of the Main Range National Park, is our destination. Take time to soak up the beauty of the area and perhaps do one of the bushwalks or view the falls, plunging 40m over Basalt Rocks to the gorge below. Continue on to Stanthorpe via Thulimbah for a visit to Stanthorpe Cheese, the Granite Belt's original farmhouse cheese makers. A short drive through the apple orchards lead to Stanthorpe, our destination for the next two nights.
Day 2 B, L, D
Girraween National Park
Following a hearty breakfast, travel via Storm King Dam on your way to Girraween, meaning 'place of flowers'. Be in awe at the splendour of the many varieties of wattle inter-woven amongst the granite rocks, largely unchanged for millions of years. You can explore along the well graded walking tracks. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before travelling to Ballandean Estate Winery for a wine tasting. Continue on to the Granite Belt's Bramble Patch Berry Gardens where a berry waffle and ice cream is sure to please.
Day 3 B, L
Stanthorpe – Brisbane
Enjoy a leisurely morning before visiting Suttons Juices and Shed Café for an introductory talk on the orchard and a catered morning tea. Beginning our journey home, travel via Warwick and Allora to take the Mama Creek scenic drive through to Gatton for lunch, Returning to Brisbane this afternoon
