Home - Mackay
Your tour begins with a flight to Mackay, where you will be met by your Coach Captain and Hostess. We will then head north of Mackay, touring along the Hibiscus Coast to the delightful seaside village of Seaforth. After lunch, continue on to Cape Hillsborough National Park, named in 1770 by Captain James Cook after the Earl of Hillsborough. This unspoiled park is rich in cultural heritage and is home to a wide variety of plant and animal life. Travel back to Mackay and settle in for the next two nights.

Day 2

Mackay Town Tour - Sarina
After breakfast, we will be joined by a local guide, who will share the history of the region as we explore this fascinating coastal city. Nicknamed the sugar capital of Australia due to the region producing more than a third of Australia's cane sugar, the city of Mackay, with its cute cafes and palm-tree lined streets, also contains the biggest collection of Art Deco buildings in the country. Next we stop for lunch in Sarina, before a visit to the Sarina Sugar Shed. This afternoon, view the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal at Hay Point before returning to our motel with time to freshen up before dinner.

Cruise Whitsundays
The Great Barrier Reef is truly one of the great wonders of the natural world and a 'must see' for any visitor to the region. Hamilton Island is a sophisticated, family-friendly resort, with excellent eating, drinking and shopping opportunities. Not far away on Whitsunday Island, glorious Whitehaven Beach is one Australia's most beautiful stretches of sand. From Port of Airlie, cruise across the Whitsunday Passage and into the Whitsunday Islands. On Hamilton Island, hop-on/hop-off shuttle buses take you past key attractions, scenic lookouts and holiday accommodation. Cool-off in the main pool with its swim-up bar, visit iconic Catseye Beach, or browse the waterfront shops and galleries before lunch at Marina Tavern. You'll also have the chance to explore Whitehaven Beach, where you can wander along the 7km shoreline - beachcombing, bushwalking and wading in the warm, crystal-clear water.
