This tour will be full of fun and frivolity with a visit to the Mary Poppins Festival, held in honour of locally born author, Pamela Travers. Visit Maryborough’s historical portside precinct and riverside parks and gain a real insight into life in the 1800’s with visits to the Mavis Bank Historical House and the Brennan and Geraghty’s Store Museum.

Day 1 L, D

Brisbane – Maryborough
View the picturesque Glasshouse Mountains as you ascend the Blackall Range to Maleny, marvelling at the magnificent views and stopping for morning tea along the way. Continue on to Kenilworth for lunch, before following the Mary Valley through to Maryborough where you will settle into our accommodation for the next two nights.

Day 2 B, D

Mary Poppins Festival Day
Visit Brennan and Geraghty's Store Museum, before arriving at the Mary Poppins Festival, set in the historic portside precinct and the riverside park. There will be Mary Poppins characters, madcap nanny races, chimney sweep races, street theatre, magicians, puppet shows and workshops. Take the time to purchase your own lunch at the festival and if you choose, board the historic steam train "The Mary Ann" (own expense). This afternoon, visit Customs House and Bond Store Museum where the centre reflects the history of Maryborough and you will discover the pioneering industries and one of the largest museum collections at The Bond Store.

Day 3 B, L

Maryborough – Gympie – Brisbane
After breakfast, travel to the former sand mining town of Rainbow Beach. This small town attracts many tourists and on a good day you may even see some hang gliders launching off the Carlo Sand Blow. Enjoy the serenity of your surroundings during a relaxing morning tea before continuing on to Gympie for lunch. This afternoon, sit back and relax as we journey back into Brisbane, where your transfers will be arranged.
