Day 1 L, D
Brisbane – Tenterfield
It’s all aboard as we journey into New South Wales to view the historic Lismore Railway Station. This elegant 19th century station is listed in the register of the National Estate. After lunch, travel on to Casino’s Railway Museum where a ride on the miniature steam train is sure to be a highlight. (Please note: it is a requirement that all passengers wear closed in footwear while riding the miniature steam train).
Stay overnight in Tenterfield.
Day 2 B, L, D
Tenterfield – Armidale
Visit the Tenterfield Railway Station Museum and inspect the prize winning platform gardens, model railway display and large collection of heritage rolling stock. Enjoy lunch in Glen Innes before travelling through to Ben Lomond, now disused, but one of the highest altitude stations in Australia. This afternoon, visit Armidale Railway Museum before checking into our accommodation.

Armidale – Singleton
Travel on the daily regional train service before taking a guided tour of the Werris Creek Railway Station, home to the Australian Railway Monument and Rail Journeys Museum. After lunch, journey by coach to Singleton for our overnight stay.

Singleton – Darling Harbour
Visit the Paterson Rail Motor Society's Museum and Exhibits which are located in the old Paterson Goods Yard in the Hunter Valley. The old Station Master's residence was restored to its 1930's exterior appearance and colour scheme by State Rail Heritage. Next we board a city train, crossing the Harbour Bridge to the heart of Sydney. Settle into our Darling Harbour accommodation and enjoy some free time before Dinner.

Darling Harbour – Blackheath
This morning we visit the historic town of Thirlmere, in Sydney’s southwest. Purchase your own lunch today as we join in all the fun at the annual Festival of Steam. It’s a community celebration of steam and nostalgia where locomotives of all kinds travel from afar. Explore Trainworks including the Historic Station Precinct, Exhibition Building, Worker’s Walk, Great Train Hall and Roundhouse. This afternoon we make our way to the Blue Mountains for the next two nights.

Day 6 B, L, D
Scenic Railway, State Mine Heritage Park and Railway
Today we’ll visit the Three Sisters, Katoomba Falls and the Jamison Valley. Travel on the Scenic Railway which was originally built to bring coal and kerosene shale from mines in the valley up to the main railway and is now part of Scenic World. Travel on to Lithgow enjoying a picnic lunch along the way. Visit the State Mine Heritage Park and Railway where we will discover how the railway played a central role in this area.
Day 7 B, L
Blackheath – Brisbane
This morning we visit the Valley Heights Locomotive Depot and Heritage Museum. Enjoy an informative guided tour through the museum with an opportunity to board the locomotive cabs and to view the carriages. To complete this tour of train journeys, museums and connections, enjoy lunch in the 103 year old Round House. This afternoon, we will make our way back to Sydney for our flight home.
