Day 1

Home – Norfolk Island
Upon arrival onto Norfolk Island, enjoy a friendly island welcome before we transfer to our accommodation for the next 7 nights. Your accommodation is close to the Burnt Pine Shopping Centre and this afternoon allows time to “get your bearings”. Tonight you will dine on a 2 course dinner at the Hilli Restaurant and Cafe before being entertained by the dramatic Sound ‘n Light Show in Kingston. As night falls, a different mood prevails when costumed actors relive the history of Norfolk Island’s convict settlement. You’ll be glad to be in a warm comfortable bed tonight and not living in the convict era!

Day 2

Norfolk Island
The Breakfast Bush Walk is an enticing BBQ Brekkie on the spectacular headland overlooking Anson Bay and is a uniquely different and innovative way to start the day; this is sure to be a highlight of your holiday. This morning’s Half Day Island Tour introduces you to the splendours of this island paradise. Visit historic Kingston, Cascade, Longridge and much more. See and hear about the famous convict buildings, beautiful beaches, golf course and Melanesian Chapel. Stop for a delicious morning tea in the garden of an historic island home built by Fletcher Quintal. A fascinating evening awaits as you attend Fletcher’s Fate Mystery Dinner, an interactive theatre of intrigue and mystery. This entertaining play examines the possible last movements and final whereabouts of the famous mutineer, Fletcher Christian, and is dramatically acted out while you enjoy dinner.

Day 3

Norfolk Island
This morning is at your leisure before experiencing the Island Culture Tour this aftrernoon. From the mutineer ancestors and their Tahitian wives comes the art of woodcarving, weaving, cooking and an historic language. See a demonstration using Norfolk timber, visit island homes for a talk on island cooking and have an introduction to Norfolk Island language. Early evening, as the sun sets over the Pacific, enjoy a typical Island Fish Fry with island dishes, salads, homemade bread, fresh fried fish and a delicious dessert. This is followed by the Mutiny on the Bounty Show where you will see descendants of the mutineers bring the story of the famed ‘Mutiny On The Bounty’ and historic events to life in a 90-minute show performed in an outdoor amphitheatre. (Please be sure to bring a jacket as it can be cool at night.)

Day 4

Norfolk Island
This morning we join the exclusive Greenfinger Tour featuring some of the islands most lovely gardens. Throughout the morning we visit a nursery owned and operated by a young Norfolk Islander and view the hydroponics. We also visit a gorgeous private garden with a spectacular view and Norfolk Island’s only maze. Our local historian will give a talk on the area with a history dating back to 1788. This afternoon we visit Cyclorama, an amazing, unusual attraction displaying one of only a handful of paintings of this type in the world. It is something not to be missed. This evening, with convict outfits supplied for Night as a Convict, you’ll be “transported” dressed as a convict to join the Commandant and Officers for a night of fun, gaiety, feasting and entertainment. What better way to earn your pardon and right to return to Norfolk Island? Enjoy!

Day 5

Norfolk Island
Christian Brothers Cheese Company is a boutique dairy and cheese producer started by two island brothers Glen & John Christian. This tour will take you through a local farm with beautiful ocean views. Meet the milk cows, try the milking machine, see the beehives and hear about producing the local honey. A quick visit to the local sawmill is an added bonus. The tour then visits Glen’s house where you will sample the range of cheeses with tasty condiments and complementary wine on the verandah. Take in the scenic ocean and valley view’s while cheese maker John gives an informative talk. This afternoon enjoy some free time before freshening up for an Island Progressive Dinner; a 3 course meal progressing to different island homes; a fun night and an admirable way to meet local people and sample island dishes. It’s a very special night with the opportunity to gain a true insight into the local relaxed way of life.

Day 6

Norfolk Island
This morning there will be opportunity to attend church if you choose. This afternoon experience the Convict Settlement Tour which gives you an in depth tour of the historical Georgian settlement of Kingston. Walk through the cemetery and hear the history of interesting convict and colonial headstones, hear stories of the houses along Quality Row, walk through the ruins of the New Gaol and see the Pier Store, Boat Shed and the Crank Mill. Afternoon tea is also included. This evening enjoy a 2 course dinner at Barney Duffy’s.

Day 7

Norfolk Island
The day dawns on this South Pacific Island for Bounty Day (or Anniversary Day) celebrations. Transfer to Kingston to watch a longboat re-enactment with Pitcairners landing on Norfolk Island. Descendants, all in traditional dress, proceed in a walking parade firstly to the Cenotaph, then along Quality Row to the Cemetery, where ceremonies are held honouring Pitcairn Pioneers. Following grace, enjoy a picnic feast among the historic ruins as arranged by Pinetree Tours. Choose from a delicious selection of specialty lunch dishes, salads, homemade breads and a variety of desserts. This grand picnic provides unforgettable memories of Norfolk Island cuisine and hospitality. This evening enjoy dinner at our motel before heading out for the Wonderland by Night Show, set amongst a magical setting of Norfolk Pines and bushland lit up like an enchanted forest. Stroll (or ride on the “Moon buggy”) with Archie as he recites his poems and lights up the dioramas. Be sure to dress warmly again for this evening.

Norfolk Island – Brisbane
Many happy and lasting memories will accompany you home as you bid farewell to our hosts and board your flight back to home, taking time to reflect on the peaceful surrounds of Norfolk Island. On arrival and after clearing customs, your transfers will be arranged.
