Home – Melbourne – Phillip Island
After your morning flight into Melbourne, begin your journey to one of Victoria’s idyllic holiday locations. Stop for lunch before arriving on Phillip Island where we will visit the Nobbies Centre for a view of Seal Island. While at the centre, visit the recently opened Antarctic Journey where you will be able to take a virtual tour of discovery into the wonderful world of the Southern Ocean and Antarctica.
Phillip Island – San Remo Cruise – Penguin Parade
After breakfast, the morning is at your leisure. You can choose to have a ‘slower’ morning or perhaps take time to explore Cowes, the main township on Phillip Island. Mid-morning we will
board the Kasey Lee for a Captain’s Choice luncheon cruise, including pelican feeding at San Remo. After an early dinner at our motel, experience the magic of the Penguin Parade. Please ensure that you dress appropriately this evening as the weather can be quite cold on the open beach front.
This morning we’ll follow in the footsteps of motor racing champions during a guided tour of the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit Visitors Centre. Later, we will take time to visit the National Vietnam Veterans Museum, established to support veterans after their return to Australia. This afternoon, explore the heritage and tranquil gardens of Churchill Island Farm. This was the
site of the first farm in Victoria and its pioneering history is still evident today in the restored 1850s homestead, original cottages and beautiful heritage gardens and orchards.
Phillip Island – Rye
This morning we depart Phillip Island and travel to visit the stunning Beleura House and Garden bequeathed to the people of Victoria by Jack Morton Tallis as a place of historic and educational interest. This afternoon, journey across the Peninsula to the Museum of HMAS Cerberus, located in the Flinders Naval Base at Cribb Point. Continue on to Rye, where we will
settle in for the next two nights.
Fort Nepean National Park
Today we journey to Port Nepean National Park, at the very tip of the Mornington Peninsula, with outstanding coastal scenery and panoramic views of Bass Strait, the Rip and Port Phillip
Bay. Enjoy the coastal surrounds or explore the military forts and tunnels, the historic Quarantine Station or view the memorial where Prime Minister Harold Holt went missing. This afternoon, visit Cape Schanck Lighthouse, one of the few lighthouses in Australia still operating. Take a scenic drive to Flinders where you can browse through one of the antique stores and crafty corners.
Rye – Home
Today we take in the spectacular views from Arthurs Seat Lookout before continuing on to Cruden Farm, a wedding present from Keith Murdoch to his bride, Elisabeth in 1928. During
our visit we learn of her love for the farm and have the opportunity to view the spectacular garden displays. This afternoon we make our way to Melbourne Airport for your transfers home.
