Day 1

Home - Rockhampton
Travellers flying from Brisbane will be met by our crew before heading to lunch. We then visit the Capricorn Caves, home to rare ferns, massive tree roots and small bats that are all part of the native flora and fauna of the area. Settle into our accommodation for the next two nights.

Day 2

Rockhampton - Yeppoon - Rockhampton
After breakfast, head to the picturesque Capricorn Coastal strip and the town of Yeppoon. Pristine beaches and the clear blue waters will whet your appetite for the beauty you will experience as you set sail for your Great Keppel Island experience. Return late afternoon to your motel.

Day 3

Rockhampton - Airlie Beach
Heading north along the Queensland coastline we travel through Marlborough, Clairview, Carmila, Ilbilbie, and Koumala before arriving into Sarina for lunch. After lunch, take the opportunity to view the Hay Point and Dalrymple Bay Coal terminals and port, the largest coal terminal in the southern hemisphere. Continue on via Mackay and Proserpine before arriving into Airlie Beach for the next two nights.

Day 4

Whitsundays and Whitehaven Beach
The Great Barrier Reef is truly one of the great wonders of the natural world and a 'must see' for any visitor to the region. A full day will allow you to admire the prolific fish life and magnificent coral-some of which are unique to this area. The day starts with a short cruise to Whitehaven Beach, home of crystal clear aqua waters and pristine white silica sand. Our friendly Cruise Whitsundays guide will provide an informative commentary on the history and natural wonders of the area as you cruise from island to island before stopping at Hamilton Island. Here you will soak up the atmosphere with a wander along the famous Front Street offering boutiques, galleries and cafes overlooking the luxury vessels in the marina. Return to Airlie Marina late afternoon.

Day 5

Airlie Beach - Townsville
Travel to Bowen, home of The Big Mango and a major film location for the movie Australia. Following a town tour continue on to Home Hill. After lunch, visit Ashworth's Rock Shop, a gemstone factory which declares it has 'the treasures of the earth'. Continue to Townsville for the next two nights.

Day 6

Magnetic Island - Townsville
This morning we venture off the coast of Townsville to Magnetic Island. Enjoy a tour of this tropical island which is located within the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef Marine Park with stunning beaches and abundant wildlife. More than half of the Island's 5,184 hectares is National Park, with Mt Cook in the centre rising 497 metres. Huge granite boulders are softened by tall Hoop pines, eucalypt forest and small patches of rainforest. Following lunch it is time to return to Townsville to visit the Museum of Tropical Queensland; a museum of natural history, archaeology and Queensland history. Return to our motel for dinner.

Day 7

Townsville - Cairns
Farewell Townsville and continue up the highway flanked by acres and acres of sugar cane, pawpaw and bananas. Journey north through Ingham, Cardwell and in Tully see the "Golden Gumboot" depicting the fact that it is the wettest town in Australia. Visit Paronella Park, voted as Queensland's No 1 "Must See Things" for Queensland's 150th year celebrations. The experience will leave you in awe as you discover the history of José Paronella's development of this unique and truly beautiful place. Travel north through Babinda, a town famous for the legendary Babinda Boulders before arriving in Cairns.

Day 8

Cairns - Home
After breakfast, we will board our half day cruise to Green Island, returning to Cairns for lunch. This afternoon board your flight home, where on arrival, your transfers will be arranged.
