Day 1
Brisbane - Rockhampton
Today we will board the Tilt Train in Brisbane for our journey to Rockhampton. Sit back and relax as we make our way through the beautiful southern Queensland scenery via Gympie, Bundaberg and into Rockhampton. The train facilities include a Licensed Galley Car providing light refreshments, confectionery and beverages. On arrival, your Coach Captain and Hostess will be waiting to transfer you to your overnight accommodation for dinner.
Day 2
Rockhampton
This morning, visit the award winning Dreamtime Aboriginal Cultural Centre for a guided tour. A meandering trail highlights the different medicinal and edible plants of the area. Following morning tea, visit Rockhampton's iconic Capricorn Caves. A guided easy walk through the Cathedral Cave is a real highlight with its high domed ceiling and magnificent natural acoustics. Enjoy lunch in the serenity of these surroundings before stepping back in time at the Rockhampton Heritage Village.
Day 3
Rockhampton - Biloela
This morning we will spend some time discovering Rockhampton with the mighty Fitzroy River meandering through. This city is best known for beef production and is celebrated with the with six iconic bull statues standing proudly throughout the city. After lunch, we will farewell "Rocky" and travel via Gracemere to Biloela for our overnight stay.
Day 4
Biloela - Roma
Beyond the tiny town of Banana, join the Leichhardt Highway to travel south west through prime Queensland cattle country. In Moura, see the 18m high water tank artwork, with images depicting the farming industries of the area before continuing on to Taroom on the banks of the Dawson River. This afternoon travel to Roma, Queensland's "Queen City of the West" and home of the "Big Rig" - Australia's living history of oil and gas exploration. Settle into your motel for the next 2 nights before visiting The Big Rig Sunset Sound and Light Show followed by dinner back at our motel.
Day 5
Roma
This morning, visit the Roma Saleyards, the largest cattle selling centre in Australia, attracting buyers and sellers from all over Queensland and Australia. Next, we will return to The Big Rig which highlights the unique history of Australia's oil and gas industry through a variety of fascinating multi-media exhibits and static displays. Later, take time to purchase your own lunch in Roma's CBD, before welcoming a local on board for a guided town tour.
Day 6
Roma - Brisbane
After breakfast, our true country experience continues as you travel via 'The Downs' through diverse agricultural regions. Journey via the Warrego Highway via Miles, Chinchilla and Warra before stopping in Dalby for lunch. This afternoon, we will make our way back to Brisbane, where on arrival, your transfers will be arranged.
