Day 1 D

Brisbane – Armidale
Get away from it all, travelling from Lockyer Creek through the hand-cut Ma Ma Creek Road and ascending the Great Dividing Range on the scenic Heifer Creek Road. Join the New England Highway through Warwick and travel through the Granite Belt region to Tenterfield where there will be opportunity to purchase your own lunch. This afternoon, travel via Glen Innes, Glencoe and Guyra before arriving in Armidale for our overnight stay.

Day 2 B, D

Armidale – Dorrigo – South West Rocks
This morning we travel the scenic Waterfall Way heading eastward via Ebor to Dorrigo. At the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre enjoy morning tea in the Canopy Restaurant prior to taking in the bird's eye view from the canopy top platform. View Dangar Falls from the boardwalk and you will see 'fold upon fold' of mountains southward from Griffiths Lookout. Travel to the historic village of Bellingen where there will be opportunity to purchase your own lunch as you wander along the main street. Our journey then continues through Urunga and Macksville where you can view the coast from various vantage points on your way to South West Rocks.

Day 3 B, L, D

Macleay Valley
A day of discovery awaits as you explore in and around the Macleay Valley. In Arakoon Recreation Reserve, view ocean scenery from the headland before a guided tour of Trial Bay Gaol. Visit Smoky Cape Lighthouse Reserve where you can choose to climb to the lighthouse base to enjoy the magnificent coastal views from ocean to Macleay hinterland. Visit the Macleay Valley Museum in the Glenn Murcutt designed Visitors Centre Complex, before heading to the Slim Dusty Centre which showcases Slim’s role in the development of Australian country music culture in Australia.

Day 4 B, L, D

Port Macquarie
Today we explore the Hastings and Camden Haven districts. From Kew, head to North Brother Mountain Lookout for an inspiring view over Laurieton and North Haven. Follow the coast road to Port Macquarie for some free time to browse around this popular holiday resort. After a leisurely lunch, board the MV Port Venture for a Dolphin Spotting Cruise with afternoon tea. Take in the beautiful scenery along the Hastings River and along the canal system. Return to picture-postcard Port Macquarie before returning back to South West Rocks.

Day 5 B, L

South West Rocks – Home
After breakfast, we travel north via Coffs Harbour en route to Woolgoolga for morning tea. Continuing along the Pacific Highway, stop in Ballina for lunch, before making our way back to Brisbane where your transfers will be arranged.
