Brisbane – Stanthorpe
Today our journey takes us via Cunninghams Gap to Warwick where a brief tour will show you the beautiful sandstone public buildings in this historic town. Enjoy lunch before travelling to the Granite Belt, where we will stop at Sutton’s Juices in Thulimbah. Here you can taste the various flavours of juices manufactured on site before we continue on to the Queensland College of Wine Tourism which is a state-of-the-art $8.5 million education and training facility for the Queensland wine tourism industry. The college opened in 2007 and is a joint venture between the Department of Education and Training and the University of Southern Queensland. This afternoon, settle in for the next two nights in Stanthorpe.
Stanthorpe – Historical Museum – Lavender
Our touring today begins with a visit to the award winning Historical Museum. See the story of how the Stanthrope area came to life. This is followed by a local delicacy at Jamworks where a tasting of a wide range of condiments and jams is available followed by their scrumptious devonshire morning tea. Continue on to Aloomba Lavender where you will learn of the beneficial qualities of the lavender plant and enjoy a tasty homemade lunch. This afternoon, we will visit Girraween National Park before returning to our motel to freshen up before dinner.
Stanthorpe – Brisbane
This morning we visit a local orchard for a guided tour and opportunity to purchase some produce to take home. Next we’ll visit Lawdogs Australia, Australia’s first privately owned specialist dog training kennel, where you’ll see puppies and adult dogs going through their law enforcement training and doing demonstrations of protection, detection and agility in a live show. Later, enjoy lunch at Bestbrook Mountain Retreat before making our way back to Brisbane where your transfers will be arranged.
