Christmas In Cooma

Day 1

Brisbane - Port Macquarie
Your tour begins with a transfer to our coach where your Coach Captain and Hostess will be ready to greet you. Sit back and relax as we travel the coastal route stopping for morning tea and lunch along the way. Late afternoon arrive into Port Macquarie for our overnight stay.

Day 2

Port Macquarie - Hunter Valley Gardens - Cessnock
After breakfast, our journey continues via Bulahdelah and into The Hunter for lunch. Here we will welcome our NSW passengers before continuing on to Pokolbin, where you will spend time in the stunning Hunter Valley Gardens. Explore the sensational sights, colours, and fragrances of the ten stunning feature gardens. Rest above the 10 metre high waterfall, of the Sunken Garden and take in the superb views from the lookout; or step back in time with all our favourite fairy tale characters in the Storybook Garden. Later we will check into our accommodation for an early dinner before returning to the gardens for the Christmas Lights Spectacular, a themed display created with over 3 million lights. A truly astonishing sight to see!

Day 3

Cessnock - Cooma
This morning we continue south via Mittagong and Bungendore before arriving into Cooma. Cooma is the largest town in the Snowy Mountain region and a perfect setting for our five night stay.

Day 4

Guided Town Tour and Snowy Hydro Visitors Centre
After breakfast, a local guide will join us for a town tour of Cooma. A highlight of the day for the ladies on board will be a visit to the Birdsnest store, a shop front for a company who's mission is to solve women's wardrobe dilemmas. Enjoy some free time and opportunity to pick up something special for Christmas or try one of the local eateries for lunch. Be sure to also browse through the Raglan Gallery and Cultural Centre which offers a range of ceramics, sculptures and jewellery. This afternoon, we'll visit the Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre, a state of- the-art facility which showcased the amazing history of the Snowy Mountains Scheme from the early days of construction through to how the scheme is operated today.

Day 5

Adaminaby and Lake Eucumbene
Today we travel to Lake Eucumbene, the largest reservoir in the Snowy Mountains Scheme, which can hold nine times the water of Sydney Harbour. Visit the new Adaminaby township and see the remains of the old Adaminaby township that was flooded to allow for the construction of the Snowy Hydro. Next we make our way to Cabramurra, Australia's highest town, to enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to our motel for dinner.

Day 6

Merry Christmas
This morning there will be opportunity for those wishing to attend a Christmas church service or alternatively, the morning is at your leisure. Later, join back together for a festive Christmas buffet lunch with all the trimmings. This afternoon, we will take a scenic drive to Boco Wind Farm which consists of 67 giant wind turbines and stop at the Mt Gladstone Lookout which offers unsurpassed views of the Monaro Plains. Return to our motel with time to freshen up before dinner.

Day 7

Kosciuszko National Park
This morning we travel to the shores of Lake Jindabyne to enjoy morning tea. Next we venture into the heart of the High Country, for a visit to Wildbrumby Distillery - an award-winning distiller of schnapps, vodka and gin. Here there will be an opportunity for a tasting, and perhaps make a purchase to take home. Continue onto Thredbo in the beautiful Kosciuszko National Park. Enjoy a picnic lunch and some free-time to explore the area. You may choose to take a ride on the chair lift to high above the village (own expense). This afternoon, enjoy the scenic drive through Perisher and Smiggin Holes to Charlotte Pass, which is as close as you can drive to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko, before returning to our motel for dinner.

Day 8

Cooma - Sydney - Home
It's time to farewell our hosts and travel to Canberra for a visit to the National Capital Exhibition. Explore the past, present and potential futures of our Nation's capital through the displays. From here we make our way to Goulburn for lunch before arriving back into Sydney where we will farewell our Queensland passengers. Our coach will then continue through to The Hunter where transfers will be arranged.
