Day 1
Home - Lord Howe Island
Your tour begins with a small aircraft flight to Lord Howe Island. This afternoon, settle in to our accommodation for the next six nights. Within easy walking distance of most restaurants, the bowling club and museum, and only 300m to Lagoon Beach, you may choose to take a short stroll before our dinner together.
Day 2
Explore the Island
Enjoy breakfast each morning at the nearby Coral Café, only a five minute walk from our accommodation. Today includes a tour visiting some of Lord Howe Island's more interesting nooks and crannies including the local school, Government House, hospital and the Catalina monument. This evening join back together for dinner.
Day 3
North Bay Nature Tour
This morning visit North Bay for a tour and cruise. Enjoy the relaxed commentary on the Island's history and marine life as we cruise slowly to the beautiful North Bay. This afternoon is free to explore-perhaps climb up Mt. Eliza, walk to the Old Gulch or Herring Pools, swim or take an optional guided walk along the beach and learn about the unique history of the Bay. Before dinner we hear from Naturalist and the Museum curator Ian Hutton to learn more about the bird life and the environment on Lord Howe.
Day 4
Tour the Reef
View the pristine beauty of one of the world's untouched reef systems and discover a new world on a glass bottom boat tour. Spend the afternoon on a guided environmental and history walk highlighting the flora, bush tucker and medicine with snippets of colourful local history. This evening join back together for dinner.
Day 5
Round the Island Cruise
Following breakfast this morning enjoy a relaxing cruise around the island. Be surrounded by the remarkable views while listening to the commentary. This afternoon is at your leisure before joining back together early evening, to view the historical movies at the local hall, showing the island's early way of life, before dinner.
Day 6
Little Islands stroll
This morning we walk to Little Island with our guide. We will go to the fascinating mountains end of the Island, to embark on a 1km level stroll. Little Islands are where the lagoons reef come to its southern end. Rock was obtained from here for the building of the airstrip and the start to Mt Gower walk. After a rest to enjoy the views and a photo or two, we stroll back. Following lunch, your afternoon is at leisure.
Day 7
Lord Howe Island - Home
Today it is time to farewell our paradise getaway as we are transferred to the local airport for our return flights home.
