Day 1
Home - Cootamundra
Today we depart The Hunter, making our way south via the Southern Highlands to Goulburn for lunch. This afternoon enjoy a break in Yass before continuing on to Cootamundra for our overnight stay.
Day 2
Cootamundra - Griffith
This morning we travel to Temora for a visit to the Aviation Museum. View the historically significant collection of ex-military aircraft all maintained in airworthy condition. Continue on to Griffith and enjoy lunch at the Griffith Pioneer Park Museum. This afternoon, we make a stop at Calabria Family Wines before our local guide takes us on a tour of the city. Settle into our overnight accommodation with time to freshen up before dinner.
Day 3
Griffith - Wentworth
Travel to Wentworth arriving at the junction of the Murray and the Darling, where the two rivers meet. A local guide will show us the key sites, including Perry Sand Hills, a backdrop for many films and TV shows. Imagine yourself in a scene from the Flying Doctors or Boney. Visit the Old Wentworth Gaol before travelling on to Mildura, checking into our accommodation for the next two nights.
Day 4
Mungo National Park
Experience the World Heritage Listed Mungo National Park during a fully guided tour. The area boasts a diverse array of animals, birds and plant life along with a lunar landscape rich in natural beauty. This chain of dried-up lake beds and sand dunes is home to the famous Mungo Lunette and the spectacular Great Wall of China. Late afternoon, return to our motel for dinner.
Day 5
Wentworth - Peterborough
Today we cross borders to arrive in South Australia. Stop for lunch in the old copper mining town of Burra before continuing on to Peterborough. Take a guided tour of the roundhouse and rail museum at Steamtown Heritage Rail Centre, once an important railway workshop, particularly for the Ghan. After dinner at our motel, return to the centre for their sound and light show. You will sit comfortably in a restored 1916 historic rail carriage which is placed on an 85 foot long, 3 gauge turntable. You will move through the tunnels of time, to learn about Peterborough, about railways in South Australia and about the many fascinating personal stories associated with it.
Day 6
Peterborough - Wilpena Pound
After breakfast, travel to Hawker for a visit to Jeff Morgan Gallery. Housed across several large enclosures, see the displays of model cars, memorabilia and painted panoramas. Continue on to Wilpena Pound, the iconic natural amphitheatre in the heart of Ikara - Flinders Ranges National Park. Enjoy a picnic lunch before taking a leisurely walk towards the centre of the pound where you can start to take in the ancient rock formations that have shaped this area over millions of years. Explore the old farm buildings of the early settlers as you make your way along the track. This afternoon, check into our accommodation before enjoying a drink as you watch the sun set over the ranges and the giant gum trees.
Day 7 and 8
Wilpena Pound Free Days
The next two days are at your leisure. You may choose to join one of the optional tours available (additional cost). Perhaps board the resort's 4WD for a half day tour and marvel at the rugged beauty of the Brachina and Bunyeroo Gorges or take a scenic flight over Wilpena Pound, the Elder Range, Edeowie Gorge, St Mary Peak and the Pound Gap. Alternatively, there are a number of guided walking tours and hiking trails available for you to enjoy during your stay.

Day 9
Wilpena Pound - Adelaide
After breakfast it's time to farewell Wilpena Pound and the stunning Ikara - Flinders Ranges. Travel to Port Augusta, formerly known as a seaport due to its location on the east coast of the Spencer Gulf, but is now a road traffic and railway junction with the Stuart Highway heading north to the Northern Territory, the Eyre Highway heading west to the Nullarbor and the Princess Highway heading South to Adelaide. Visit Wadlata Outback Centre and wander through the "Tunnel of Time" with interactive displays depicting the creation of Ikara - Flinders Ranges through to the brave treks and tales from the early settlers. After lunch we continue on to Adelaide to settle into our motel before dinner.
Day 10
Adelaide - Home
It is time to farewell Adelaide this morning after a short visit to Glenelg. Our crew will assit with your check in at Adelaide Airport for your flight home.
