Home - Seymour - Albury
Following your flight to Melbourne, where on arrival, you will be welcomed by your All Australian Journeys Coach Captain and Hostess. Travel from Melbourne to Seymour for lunch before continuing on to Wondonga. This beautiful regional city sits on the banks of the Murray River and is renowned for its heritage buildings.
Albury - Tumbarumba
There is a busy day ahead today as you travel out from Albury through Tallangatta along the Murray Valley Highway. Arrive in Corryong, a small town in the shadows of Australia's Snowy Mountains, to witness the re-enactment of the Man from Snowy River, the subject of Banjo Patterson's famous ballad and the commemoration of Jack Riley's participation in this story. Enjoy some free time to take in the sights and sounds of the festivities before heading to the main street in Corryong for the Festival Street Parade. Settle in to Tumbarumba for the next two nights. Please note: You will need to be able to negotiate uneven, sloping ground and paddocks for the re-enactment and to view the rodeo ground.
Man from Snowy River Festival
After a hearty breakfast, we will return to Corryong to spend more time at the Man from Snowy River Festival. The Man from Snowy River Challenge runs throughout the day with events such as the bareback obstacle course, horse shoeing, whip cracking and the mountain horseman's cross country competition. Other festival activities include a craft market where you will find Australian made, baked, sewn, crafted and grown products. Displays of traditional skills such as an art and photography exhibition, bush poetry championships, ute muster, station team muster and horse handling displays to name a few. Purchase your own morning tea and lunch today at the festival. Return late afternoon to Tumbarumba for dinner at the motel.
Tumbarumba - Cooma
Today we tour through this scenic area nestled in the Snowy Mountains region. This morning visit one of the best and most unusual small museums in the country, the 'Pioneer Women's Hut', reflecting the ingenuity of pioneer women in Australia. Departing Tumbarumba we journey to Australia's highest town, Cabramurra and through Kiandra, an old abandoned gold mining town. Enjoy a picnic lunch along the way as we travel along the Snowy Mountains Highway to Cooma for our overnight stay.
Cooma - Home
After breakfast this morning, we travel the Monaro Highway through to Canberra before arriving at the airport where you will board your flight back home. On arrival, our staff will be waiting to meet you and will have your transfers arranged.
