Day 1
Home - Newcastle - Harrington
Our tour begins with our Brisbane passengers flying into Newcastle Airport to join our crew and Hunter passengers prior to lunch at the riverside Village of Karuah. This afternoon take a scenic drive along part of The Bucketts Way, an area surrounded by lush country landscape and charming towns. Arrive at the seaside town of Harrington to settle into our accommodation situated on the banks of the picturesque Manning River. Take in the stunning views of the picturesque river and surrounding mountains as a backdrop for our dinner.
Day 2
Taree - Manning - Wingham
Today we visit Crowdy Lighthouse, one of five similar NSW lighthouses designed by colonial architect James Barnett. Continue on to Taree, which was established in 1854 as a private town, proclaimed as a municipality in 1885 and a city in 1981. It derives its name from the Aboriginal tareebin, referring to a local wild fig. Enjoy a catered morning tea and some time to browse at the Taree Craft Cottage. Continue on to Manning Point, situated on the southern side of the Manning River, for lunch before arriving in Wingham where a local guide will provide a town tour.
Day 3
ANZAC Day - Dolphin Cruise - Nabiac Motor Museum
There will be opportunity to attend the local Dawn service this morning. Afterwards, we will join back together for breakfast. We then make our way to the twin towns of Forster and Tuncurry for a morning dolphin watching cruise. After lunch, we'll visit the National Motorcycle Museum where, among the many machines on display, you'll find a Kenilworth scooter (1919), a twin cylinder water-cooled 2 stroke Scott, and a Vincent Black Knight.
Day 4
Harrington - Port Macquarie
It is time to farewell Harrington as we travel north via a costal route to Laurieton. Morning tea will offer spectacular views along the coastline from our vantage point on top of Middle Brother Mountain. Continue on to Wauchope for a visit to Timbertown, recreated to demonstrate the struggles and achievements of our pioneers. Take time to stroll through the streets and admire the cottage crafts, art gallery, general store and Vicker's Fudge. Continue on to Port Macquarie for a guided tour of St Thomas Anglican Church prior to checking into our accommodation.
