Day 1 L, D
Home – Melbourne – Apollo Bay
After your early morning flight to Melbourne, be prepared to take in some of Australia’s most breathtaking coastal scenery. After lunch, travel via Geelong, Victoria’s second largest provincial city, and on to Victoria’s Surf Coast. The Great Ocean Road, carved into the rock, officially commences at Torquay and winds around the rugged southern coastline. Following an afternoon stop in Lorne, continue on to the seaside village of Apollo Bay where we will stay overnight.
Day 2 B, L, D
Great Ocean Road
Today we visit the Cape Otway Lightstation perched on the towering 80 metre sea cliffs overlooking where Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean collide. Swap coastal views for fern gullies and rainforests as the Great Ocean Road winds its way through the Otway Ranges. At the Twelve Apostles Information Centre we take in this magnificent area while enjoying a picnic lunch. There is no doubt this is a photographer’s paradise and for the very keen, there is the opportunity to take an optional scenic helicopter flight over this world renowned area. Continuing westward, we will pass Loch Ard Gorge, Port Campbell, The Arch, London Bridge (which did fall down), The Grotto and the Bay of Islands before arriving in Warrnambool. This evening, enjoy dinner and the spectacular ‘Shipwrecked’ sound and laser show at the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum.

Day 3 B, L, D
Warrnambool – Mt Gambier
This morning enjoy a return visit to the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum for a closer look at the items that were featured in last night’s show, especially the Loch Ard Peacock. We continue along the rugged coastline to Portland, Victoria’s first European settlement, for lunch. More amazing landscapes follow with the Petrified Forest, which resembles a lunar landscape of sandstone formations and the blowholes at Cape Bridgewater. Continue on to Mt Gambier and settle in before dinner.
Day 4 B, L, D
Mt Gambier – Murray Bridge
Today begins with a visit to the spectacular Umpherston Sinkholes and Gardens, which was once a typical limestone cave. The natural sinkhole now houses a beautiful sunken garden with lush foliage, terraces and ornaments. Our next stop will be an award winning tour through the Blue Lake Pumping Station. Travelling through Millicent to Kingston SE for lunch, this town is home to the Big Lobster. Continue along the Princess Highway through Coorong to Murray Bridge for our overnight stay.
Day 5 B, L
Murray Bridge – Adelaide – Home
This morning we travel through the Adelaide Hills, visiting Beerenberg Farm, owned and operated by the Paech family since 1839. You will have the opportunity to purchase homemade jams, sauces and condiments. Continue on to seaside Glenelg where you can purchase your own morning tea if you wish and enjoy some free time before lunch. Transfer to nearby Adelaide Airport for your flight home.
