Day 1 D
Home – Lord Howe Island
After flying to Lord Howe Island this afternoon, unpack at our accommodation for the next seven nights. Within easy walking distance of most restaurants, the bowling club and museum, and only 300m to Lagoon Beach, you may choose to take a short stroll before our Welcome Slideshow and dinner at the Anchorage Restaurant.
Day 2 B, D
Round the Island Cruise
Enjoy breakfast each morning at the nearby Coral Café, only a five minute walk from our accommodation. Today includes a coach tour visiting some of Lord Howe Island’s more interesting nooks and crannies, followed by a relaxing ‘Round the Island’ two hour cruise on ‘Lulawai’. Relax and enjoy the remarkable views while listening to the commentary on flora, fauna, geology and the history of the island. (Please note the time of this cruise is subject to weather and tides.) Enjoy an afternoon at leisure before a three course Fish Fry dinner at the boutique style Beachcomber restaurant.
Day 3 B, D
North Bay Turtle and Nature Tour
This morning visit North Bay for a Turtle and Nature Tour. Enjoy the relaxed commentary on the Island’s history and marine life as we cruise slowly to the beautiful North Bay. This afternoon
is free to explore—perhaps climb up Mt. Eliza, walk to the Old Gulch or Herring Pools, swim or take an optional guided walk along the beach and learn about the unique history of the Bay. To conclude our day, enjoy a three course dinner at Coral Café.
Day 4 B, D
Tour the reef
View the pristine beauty of one of the world’s untouched reef systems and discover a new world on a glass bottom boat tour. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. This evening join back together for dinner at the Bowls Club.
Day 5 B, D
Environmental and history walk
Spend the morning relaxing before joining Ron Matthews from Ronnie Ramble’s Bushwalking Tours. Enjoy a three hour guided environmental and history walk, learning about the flora, bush tucker and medicine, the palm and tourist industry, birds, volcanic history plus snippets of colourful local history. Early evening view the historical movies at the local hall, showing the island’s early way of life, before dinner at Anchorage.
Day 6 B, D
Free time
Today is at leisure for you to pursue your own interests. If you are fascinated by bird watching, Lord Howe Island is the ultimate seabird destination in Australia with 14 species breeding
here in the hundreds of thousands. You may also choose to do some fishing, snorkelling or just relax in the beautiful surrounds. Tonight we dine at the Golf Club.
Day 7 B, L, D
Little Islands stroll – Ned’s Beach
This morning we walk to Little Island with our guide, Ron Ramble. We will go to the fascinating mountains end of the Island, to embark on a 1km level stroll. Little Islands are where the
lagoons reef come to its southern end. Rock was obtained here for the building of the airstrip and start to Mt Gower walk. After a rest to enjoy the views and a photo or two, we stroll back.
Following lunch at Anchorage enjoy the afternoon at Ned’s Beach feeding the fish. Tonight enjoy a three course dinner at the Milky Way.
Day 8 B
Lord Howe Island – Home
Today it is time to farewell our paradise getaway as we are transferred to the local airport for our return flights home.
