Day 1
Home - Adelaide
Your tour begins with a flight to Adelaide, where our crew will be waiting to welcome you onboard. Travel to Glenelg where there will be opportunity to purchase your own lunch as you discover this seaside town. This afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of Adelaide city before settling into our accommodation for the next five nights.
Day 2
Adelaide City Touring
After breakfast we'll visit the Adelaide Central Markets before a guided tour of St Peters Cathedral. Our guide will highlight the historic stained glass windows and the fascinating architecture. Next we see behind the scenes at the hallowed Adelaide Cricket Oval, from the players and umpires room to the heritage score board. Later enjoy a picnic lunch as we cruise the River Torrens (Karrawirra Parri) through the heart of this city, before strolling through the Botanic Gardens.
Day 3
Whispering Wall and Barossa Valley
This morning we'll stop at the Whispering Wall, where words whispered on one side of the dam wall can be heard 140m away at the other end. Continue on to Barossa Chateau for a Devonshire Tea in the Barrel Room, before taking in the views of the valley from Mengler's Hill, home to one of the key stages of the Tour Down Under cycle race. This afternoon, explore the quaint village of Tanunda and take time to purchase your own lunch, before making our way back to Adelaide, stopping at Jacobs Creek Winery on the way.
Day 4
Adelaide - Goolwa
Today our journey takes us to Goolwa, a popular holiday town situated on the last bend of the Murray River before it reaches open water. Board the Steam Ranger Heritage Railway for a ride on the Cockle Train, travelling across the plains to Middleton, Port Elliot and beside the Encounter Bay Coast, offering some of the most picturesque coastal scenery on the peninsula. After arriving in Victor Harbor, we'll visit the Fleurieu Marine Education Centre where a guided tour will reveal some of its hidden secrets. Purchase your own lunch and then ride the Horse Drawn Tram across the 630m wooden causeway at Granite Island, before returning to our accommodation.
Day 5
Mount Lofty - Botanic Gardens - Hahndorf
After breakfast we'll spend time in the Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens, located in the Adelaide Hills. Our next stop is the Mount Lofty Summit, offering panoramic views of the city. Continue on to Hahndorf, which is classified as Australia's oldest surviving German Settlement. Take time to wander the main street before enjoying lunch at The Hahndorf Old Mil. This afternoon, is sure to be a highlight, visiting one of Adelaide's most iconic attractions, Adelaide Zoo.
Day 6
Adelaide - Home
With a leisurely start to the day it is time to farewell Adelaide as we make our way to Adelaide Airport to check in for your flight home.
