Day 1
Brisbane - Millmerran - Toowoomba
This tour offers country hospitality at its best. Travel via the Lockyer Valley before arriving at the Australian Camp Oven Festival. Sample some of what is on offer and purchase your own lunch today. The quirky program celebrates authentic Aussie traditions including camp oven cooking, damper throwing, billy boiling, bush poetry, country music and bush heritage displays. There are stalls selling an array of goods including food (the camp oven dinners are always popular), wine, clothes, leatherwear, bric-a-brac, cookbooks and assorted implements giving you the opportunity to take a little something of the festival back home with you. Travel back to Toowoomba for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 2
Toowoomba - Brisbane
After breakfast, visit the Highfields Pioneer Village which has over 50 buildings within the picturesque grounds. You will find everything in working order, including the 1912 Marshall Portable Steam Engine which is used to drive the vintage machinery on special days. See what life was like for the pioneers of the Darling Downs as you take a guided tour through the faithfully restored buildings, before enjoying a traditional billy tea and damper morning tea. Next we stop at the Chocolate Cottage which has an extensive range of lollies and 60 different varieties of hand-made chocolates ranging from traditional favourites to quirky novelties. After lunch at the local tavern, it's time to head back to Brisbane where on arrival, your crew will have your transfers arranged.
