Day 1
Home - Albury
An early morning transfer to the airport is the start to a very memorable holiday. Your tour begins with a flight to Canberra, where you will be met by your Coach Captain and Hostess. Once aboard your luxury coach, you're in for a treat exploring the delights of Victoria's diverse landscapes. Travel south via Gundagai (the town made famous by 'The Dog on the Tuckerbox') before arriving in Albury, situated on the New South Wales side of the mighty Murray River. Check in to our accommodation for our overnight stay.
Day 2
" Albury - Bright
After breakfast, travel through Albury's twin city - Wodonga, situated on the southern bank of the Murray River and a state away. View Lake Hume, then continue on via Tallangatta and along the Omeo Highway for a scenic drive beside the Mitta Mitta River. Enjoy lunch at Dartmouth Alpine Retreat before a visit to the National Trust town of Yackandandah, one of Australia's prettiest villages with avenues of English trees and featuring many well-preserved buildings which date back to the mid and late 1800's. Continue on via Myrtleford which is the gateway to Mt Buffalo National Park and the home of the world-renowned Phoenix Tree before arriving into Bright.
Day 3
Harrietville and Bright
Today's touring begins with a drive to the picturesque township of Harrietville. Visit the Harrietville Museum, where you will learn about the town's early beginnings as a gold mining settlement and with 160 years of continuous gold production. Stop at a local café for a delicious morning tea. Travel back to Bright for some free time to stroll along the banks of the Ovens River, visit some of Bright's attractions including the Bright Brewery, Bright Cheese, Bright Chocolate or the local Art Gallery. Purchase your own lunch today at one of the many cafes and restaurants showcasing the local produce. This afternoon, visit the Bright Historical Museum for a tour of the collection.
Day 4
Mount Beauty - Falls Creek
Nestled at the foot of Mt Bogong, Victoria's highest peak, the village of Mt Beauty was originally built for the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme workers. Continue on to the Falls Creek area where you'll see incredible mountains, streams waterfalls and rivers, plus expansive meadows of wildflowers. At the Alpine Tourist Information Centre at Mt Beauty, learn about the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme. On our way back to Bright, stop at the junction of the Ovens River and Morses Creek for a photo.
Day 5
Mount Buffalo in Autumn
Today enjoy the spectacular alpine scenery, sheer cliffs and amazing rock formations all nestled amongst the forest of mountain ash and snow gums as you travel to Mt Buffalo. Following morning tea, head back to Eurobin and the Red Stag Deer and Emu Farm, where you will enjoy lunch and an informative talk. This afternoon, awaken your tastebuds with wine tasting at Brown Brothers Winery, followed by gourmet products at Milawa Cheese and Milawa Mustards.
Day 6
Bright - Melbourne - Home
Farewell the autumn colours of the Bright region, as we make our way to the Benalla Botanic Gardens for a delicious Devonshire morning tea and free time to wander the garden where extensive lawns sweep down to Lake Benalla. Continue heading south and following lunch, it's time to make our way to Melbourne Airport for your flight home.
