Day 1
Brisbane - Melbourne - Echuca
Your tour begins with a flight to Melbourne where our crew will be waiting to greet you. Enjoy lunch before making our way via Colbinabbin and Rochester, arriving in Echuca for the next four nights.
Day 2
ANZAC Day - Echuca
Today we spend the day exploring Australia's paddlesteamer capital, with its rich riverboat heritage and towering river red gums. Enjoy a guided tour of the Echuca and Moama twin towns with a local that will provide an insight to the remarkable history of these two towns on opposite banks of the Murray River. There will also be opportunity to attached the local March and ANZAC Day Service today, taking time to purchase your own lunch following the service. This afternoon, visit the Echuca Port Precinct and learn about the history of the riverboat trade, the wharf, the timber Industry and the railhead. Cruise on The Pevensey paddlesteamer, an authentic paddlesteamer with its original steam engine and is known to people all over the world for its role as "Philadelphia" in the Australian television mini-series, All the Rivers Run.
Day 3
Beer Shed - Discovery Centre
The Great Aussie Beer Shed and Heritage Farm Museum is one of the most unique and interesting places, offering four museums in one place. Come and take a visit down memory lane with an unbelievable display of Aussie icon paraphernalia as you stroll through the different displays. We then cross the Murray River onto the NSW side at Moama, for a visit to Anne's Vineyard. Enjoy lunch and a wine tasting before travelling back to the Port of Echuca Discovery Centre, allowing more time to discover the steam-powered exhibits, sawmill and more, providing a glimpse of what life was like in the late 1800s.
Day 4
Silo Art - Deniliquin - Echuca
Our journey today takes us through fertile rich farming areas enroute to Deniliquin. Stop at the Picola Silo Art for a photo before enjoying morning tea at The Big Strawberry. Crossing the border, you will see the world's largest Big Murray Cod on display in the foreshore parklands, before continuing on to The Depot. This historic vehicle and memorabilia collection in Deniliquin is full of nostalgia and discovery, with touches of Hollywood, trucking and transport, Australian motoring, rescue vehicles and cars from all around the world.
Day 5
Echuca - Benalla
Today we will see some truly remarkable artworks as we follow the Victorian North East Silo Art Trail. The trail includes painted silos and water tanks along with stunning murals. Travel through vast farmlands to wetlands, where you will see the amazing canvas' come to life. Stop for morning tea and lunch along the way before arriving in Benalla. This afternoon, visit the Aviation Museum and Men's Shed, bringing to life the important histories surrounding the training of RAAF Pilots during the World War II conflict, stationed at the Benalla Airfield.
Day 6
Benalla - Melbourne - Brisbane
Benalla is known for its small group of likeminded, art loving locals that had a vision to bring Street Artists from around the world to paint murals on bare walls; some over 3 stories high. Take time to discover these amazing murals within the main CBD area, and purchase your own morning tea. We then make our way to Melbourne, stopping for lunch before checking in for your flight home. On arrival into Brisbane Airport, our staff will have your transfers arranged.
