Day 1
Home - Seymour - Wodonga
Following your flight to Melbourne, you will be welcomed on board by our Coach Captain and Hostess, before travelling north to Seymour. After lunch, continue on to the regional city of Wodonga, situated on the banks of the Murray River and renowned for its heritage buildings, for the next two nights.
Day 2
Man from Snowy River Festival
Today we travel through Tallangatta and along the Murray Valley Highway, arriving in Corryong to witness the re-enactment of the Man from Snowy River, the subject of Banjo Patterson's famous ballad and the commemoration of Jack Riley's participation in this story. Enjoy some free time to take in the sights and sounds of the festivities before heading to the main street for the Street Parade. Late afternoon we'll return to Wodonga for dinner and a well-deserved rest.
Day 3
Wodonga - Tumbarumba
After a hearty breakfast, we'll return to Corryong to spend more time at the festival. The Man from Snowy River Challenge runs throughout the day with events such as the bareback obstacle course, horse shoeing, whip cracking and the mountain horseman's cross country competition. There will also be displays of traditional skills such as an art and photography exhibition, bush poetry championships, a ute muster, station team muster and horse handling, just to name a few. Purchase your own morning tea and lunch today at the festival. This afternoon, we make our way to Tumbarumba for our overnight stay.
Day 4
Tumbarumba - Cooma
Today we tour through this scenic area nestled in the Snowy Mountains region. This morning visit the Pioneer Women's Hut, a unique museum reflecting the ingenuity of pioneering women in Australia. Our journey then takes us via Cabramurra, Australia's highest town, and Kiandra, an old abandoned gold mining town. Stop for a picnic lunch as we traverse the Snowy Mountains Highway, before arriving in Cooma for our overnight stay.
Day 5
Cooma - Home
After breakfast we make our way along the Monaro Highway, arriving at the Canberra Airport where our staff will assist with your check in for your flight home.
