Day 1
Home - Melbourne Zoo - Melbourne
Begin with a flight into Melbourne, where on arrival, our crew will be waiting to welcome you on board. We then make our way to Melbourne Zoo, which was modelled on the London Zoo and was opened in 1862, making it the oldest in Australia. Explore the rainforests, bushland and underwater worlds, meet the amazing staff that care for the animals and hear their stories during the zookeeper talks. Later, we will check into our accommodation for the next three nights.
Day 2
Melbourne - Geelong - Bellarine Peninsula
This morning we will travel to Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula, situated on the shores of Port Phillip Bay. Enjoy freetime at Geelong's waterfront where you can explore the area with its 19th-century carousel, Cunningham Pier painted bollards and colourful sculptures chronicling city history. Later, continue on to the Bellarine Peninsula for a unique train ride. Your journey on the Q Train is a dining experience like no other in Australia and is sure to be a highlight of your tour. This restored railway restaurant travels across the Bellarine Peninsula on the historic Bellarine Railway from Drysdale and Queenscliff. The journey will provide stunning views while you enjoy a 5 course set Degustation menu, showcasing local produce. Return to our accommodation for some free time before dinner.
Day 3
MCG Tour - Queen Victoria Markets - Free time
Today begins with a visit to Brighton Beach to see the iconic bathing huts painted in their striking colour schemes. Next, take a guided tour of the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) where many a sporting record has been made. See Australia's finest collection of sporting heritage, and thousands of sporting artefacts, on display at the National Sports Museum, situated within the stadium precinct. From here we will make our way to the famous Queen Victoria Markets for a dose of retail therapy and time to purchase your own lunch. If you're not into shopping, just sit back and take in the markets olde-world charm. This afternoon is at your leisure to explore Melbourne's CBD. You may choose to travel on the free Melbourne City Circle Historic Trams, which provides an overview on the city and allows you to hop on and off at any stop. Alternatively, you may visit Fed Square offering a diverse range of art galleries and exhibitions, or take a guided tour of the Victorian Parliament Building sitting at the top of Burke Street.
Day 4
Melbourne - Home
After breakfast, it's time to farewell our hosts as we travel into the heart of the city. Take a guided tour of St Paul's Cathedral, a striking part of the Melbourne skyline, before stopping at Fitzroy Gardens where you will have some time to wander and purchase your own morning tea. See Cooks Cottage, originally located in Yorkshire, England, and built in 1755 by the parents of Captain James Cook. This afternoon, we make our way to Tullarmarine Airport where our crew will assist with your check in prior to your flight home.
