Join us as we travel to the Southern Highlands where the town of Bundanoon becomes Brigadoon for a day! This premier Scottish Gathering in Australia offers a day full of fun and festivities. See distinctly Scottish performances from the Pipe Bands and Highland Dancers, watch traditional (and not so traditional) games during the Heavy Weight Championships and be entertained by the crowd having a go at the Tossing the Caber and Stone Put. The day comes to a close with the Massed Pipes and Drums.

Day 1

Home - Sydney - Mittagong
Our Queensland passengers will transfer to Brisbane Airport for a flight to Sydney, while our Hunter passenger will travel to Sydney via coach. Once together, we will make our way to Bowral for lunch and a visit to the Bradman Museum and International Cricket Hall of Fame. Later check into our accommodation for the next four nights with time to settle in before dinner.

Day 2

Bundanoon is Brigadoon
"Bundanoon is Brigadoon" has become one of the finest Highland Gatherings in Australia. The day starts with the vibrant street parade featuring pipe bands, clans and floats. We then make our way to the oval to enjoy all the fun and excitement at the Gathering. Purchase your own morning tea and lunch while watching the displays. See Scottish Country Dancing and Scottish Highland Dancing, displays by the Southern Highlands Kennel and Obedience Club and be entertained with lively tunes at the Fiddlers Tent. The Kilted Dash is sure to make you laugh, while the Australian Highland Heavy Weight Championship will leave you in awe of the five demanding events the competitors endure.

Day 3

Mittagong - Bowral
Today we visit Fairground Follies in Bowral, an exciting venue that embraces fun with interactive cultural music, folk art, mechanical music, 100 year old carousels and more. Next, enjoy a wine tasting at the Cellar Door of Bendooley Estate before taking time to wander the main street of Bowral to purchase your own lunch. This afternoon, visit Retford Park, a National Trust Property with European history extending back to land grants made to Edward Riley Snr by Governor Macquarie in 1821. The elegant Victorian homestead is set in spectacular gardens and the autumn colours are sure to impress.

Day 4

Fitzroy Falls - Kangaroo Valley
This morning visit Fitzroy Falls, where the elevated boardwalk and lookout offers stunning views. The historic town of Kangaroo Valley is located between the scenic Cambewarra and Barrengarry Mountains, and is famous for its country village ambience. See the Hampden Bridge, a heritage listed, single span suspension bridge that crosses the Kangaroo River. Continue on to the Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk for lunch and enjoy the breathtaking views from the walkway nestled in the treetop canopy.

Day 5

Mittagong - Bowral - Home
It's time to farewell our hosts before a visit to Sturts Gallery and Studios, showcasing the works of over 300 of Australia's finest emerging and established artists, designers and makers. Continue on to Campbelltown for lunch before making our way to Sydney Airport where our Queensland passengers will board their flight back to Brisbane, and our NSW passengers will continue on the coach back to The Hunter.
