Day 2

Bororen - Carnarvon Gorge
This morning our journey takes us via Calliope and then onto the Dawson Highway towards Biloela. See the large scale artworks on the water tank and mung bean silos, before continuing on to Moura. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park prior to making our way to Rolleston, where we'll join the Carnarvon Highway to make our way into the spectacular Carnarvon Gorge National Park. Take time to settle into our safari cabins at the Wilderness Lodge for the next three nights. Surrounded by green lawns and shaded by ancient macrozamias and tall gums, each unique timber and canvas safari cabin has a carpeted floor and ensuite. The cabins are spacious and airy, with screened windows, fridge, solid pine furniture, heaters, tea and coffee facilities and a shaded timber deck with easy chairs. At night, there will be opportunity to star gaze with an unimpeded view of the southern skies and to sleep in the silence of the bush. Be sure to bring a torch to help guide you around at night.
