Hunter Valley Gardens And Lights Spectacular

Day 1

Brisbane - Morpeth - Maitland
Today begins with a flight to Newcastle Airport to board our coach. Travel to Maitland, a thriving regional city nestled in the heart of the Hunter Valley, with its vibrant art scene, beautifully preserved heritage buildings and plenty of wide-open spaces. Visit the Maitland Regional Art Gallery and see a dynamic mix of contemporary and traditional artworks, thought-provoking exhibitions, and engaging community installations. This afternoon, make our way into the Hunter Valley, where we will settle in for the next four nights.

Day 2

Over the Tops - Barrington
Following breakfast, our journey takes us to the magnificent Barrington Tops, with a Upper Hunter tour guide onboard. After morning tea, visit one of the world class thoroughbred studs in the area, before continuing on to Gloucester, a charming country town nestled between rolling hills and rivers. This afternoon, our journey continues via Stroud and back to Pokolbin, for dinner at our hotel.

Day 3

Newcastle Harbour Cruise - Hunter Valley Gardens
After breakfast, we board a Christmas-themed luncheon cruise. You may choose to dress in your best Christmas outfit to be in the running for best dressed, or perhaps you'll win the Christmas trivia. Enjoy the entertainment and take in the sights of Newcastle Harbour as we cruise past the world's largest coal export ports, and one of the most diverse regional ports in Australia. Return to our motel for some free time prior to an evening out at the stunning Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights Spectacular, the largest and most breathtaking Christmas lights display in Australia. The gardens come alive with twinkling lights, festive installations, and enchanting themed zones that are sure to delight as you wander along illuminated paths.

Day 4

Hunter Valley Gardens - Winery and Cheese
This morning we return to Hunter Valley Gardens to wander through the beautiful themed gardens. A visit to the Hunter Valley Christmas Shop will be a highlight for the Christmas lovers, with a wide range of Christmas ornaments on sale. After a relaxing morning, enjoy lunch before stopping at a selection of the Hunter Valley's renowned wineries to sample award-winning vintages, meet passionate winemakers, and perhaps even find a bottle or two to take home. A visit to the Hunter Belle Dairy Co for a cheese tasting is also sure to please. Return to our accommodation to freshen up before dinner.

Day 5

Maitland - Coffs Harbour
Today it's time to bid farewell to our hosts, before making our way to Taree. Visit the Taree Arts and Crafts Centre where you'll discover a delightful collection of handmade goods and works by talented local artisans. Continue on to Kempsey, stopping at the Slim Dusty Centre where the life and legacy of Australia's legendary country music icon is celebrated. Explore the museum, browse memorabilia, and experience a slice of Aussie heritage. This afternoon, arrive into Coffs Harbour for our overnight stay.

Day 6

Coffs Harbour - Brisbane
After breakfast, visit the fascinating New Italy Museum, where stories of resilience and heritage come to life. Continue on to the beautiful Tweed Coast for lunch prior to crossing the border as we make our way back to Brisbane where your transfers will be arranged.
