Day 1
Brisbane - Mundubbera
Your tour begins with a transfer to meet our coach, where our crew will welcome you on board. Travel via Esk and Nanango before stopping in Wondai to explore the South Burnett Region Timber Industry Museum. Continue on to Proston, admiring the rich fertile landscape of the region, passing through cattle country, orchards and small country communities. This afternoon, settle into our accommodation in Mundubbera for the next three nights.
Day 2
Mundubbera - Mundubbera Regional Art Gallery
Today we hear stories from a locals perspective, during a guided tour of Mundubbera - Queensland's citrus capital, and surrounds. Time will then allowed to purchase your own lunch before visiting the Historical Society's museum and the Mundubbera Regional Art Gallery. Return to our motel to freshen up before dinner.
Day 3
Mundubbera - Boolboonda Tunnel
This morning visit the RM Williams Bush Learning Centre and hear about the role the centre plays in the local community of Eidsvold. Next we'll travel to the quaint little town of Mount Perry, nestled between the Normanby and Boolboonda Ranges, through some stunning countryside. The town dates back to the late 1840s with rich deposits of copper being mined from the 1860s. A highlight today will be to drive through the Boolboonda Tunnel, the longest artificial nonsupported tunnel in the southern hemisphere. Continue on through Gin Gin to Childers where you will have time to wander down the main street. Take time to admire some of the heritage buildings before continuing our travels on through Biggenden on our way back to the motel for dinner.
Day 4
Mundubbera - Brisbane
After a hearty breakfast, we farewell our hosts and travel to Gayndah, stopping at the Big Orange for morning tea. Continue on to Gympie for lunch before arriving back into Brisbane where your transfers will be arranged.
